Lipi is a little girl.
লিপি একটি ছোট্ট মেয়ে
She is nine now.
সে এখন নয় বছরের
She lives with her parents at Sukhnagar.
সে সুখনগরে তার বাবা-মার সঙ্গে বাস করে।
Every year a big fair is held in the village.
প্রত্যেক বছর এই গ্রামে একটি বড়ো মেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
It is going on right now.
এটি এখনই অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে।
Lipi's father makes masks of various kinds.
লিপির বাবা বিভিন্ন ধরনের মোখশ তৈরী করে।
He sells them in the fair.
তিনি সেগুলি মেলায় বিক্রি করেন।
"Can you take me to the fair today?' Lipi asks her father.
লিপি তার বাবাকে বলে 'আপনি কি আজ আমাকে মেলায় নিয়ে যেতে পারেন
"You know I have to sell masks all day.

So I will be very busy," her father replies.

But Lipi repeatedly asks him to take her along.

A Girl In A Fair : 2nd Stanza
Little Lipi has never been to a fair.
ছোট লিপি কখনও মেলায় যায়নি।
So she is very excited today.
তাই সে আজ খুব আনন্দিত
"I have never seen so many people together!" she exclaims in wonder.
সে বিষ্ময়ে অবাক হয়ে বলে,"আমি এত মানুষ একসাথে কখনও দেখিনি!"
A small crowd has gathered in front of her father's shop.
একটি ছোট ভিড় তার বাবার দোকানের সামনে জমা হয়েছে।
Some of them are buying masks.
তাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ মুখোশ কিনছে।
She is delighted to see that the masks are selling well.
মুখোশগুলি ভালোই বিক্রি হচ্ছে দেখে সে খুব আনন্দিত।
Her father is also happy.
তার বাবাও খুব আনন্দিত
Beside her father's shop, a person sits selling dolls
তার বাবার দোকানের পাশে, একজন ব্যক্তি বসে পুতুল বিক্রি করছে।
The dolls are made of burnt clay.

Looking inside the shop, Lipi notices a girl her age.
দোকানের ভিতরে তাকিয়ে, লিপি তার বয়সী একটি মেয়েকে দেখে।
"Who is the girl, father?" she asks.
সে জিঞ্জাসা করে, মেয়েটি কে, বাবা?
"She is Mansur's daughter," replies her father, "You may go and talk to her.

But do not go anywhere else." "Ok, father," says Lipi and goes to the girl.

"What is your name?" Lipi asks.

🔹 ১. “Have / Has Never” মানে কী?
Have never / Has never = কখনোই … করে নি / হয়নি।
এটি সাধারণত Present Perfect Tense এ ব্যবহার হয়।
এখানে never মানে "কখনোই না"।
অর্থাৎ, জীবনে কোনো সময়ও সেই কাজটা ঘটেনি।

Have never → Plural Subject (I, We, You, They + plural noun)
Has never → Singular Subject (He, She, It, singular noun)

After a while, Lipi hears someone calling her name.

It is Sujoy, her classmate.

He has come to the fair with his father.

Close by, a puppet show is about to start.

Lipi looks at food stalls a little further from their shop.

"Father, I want to have alu kabli and jilabis," she says.
