Description: উপরের অনুচ্চেদটির বন্ধনীর মধ্যে যে word গুলি [ am/is/are ] দেওয়া রয়েছে সেগুলিকে বলা হয় 'Be Verb' যার অর্থ হল যথাক্রমে [ হই / হয় / হও ] । এই 'Be Verb' গুলির ব্যবহারিক প্রয়োগ সম্পর্কে সঠিক ধারনা রাখা অত্যন্ত আবশ্বিক। Present Tense এ এগুলি Principle Verb হিসেবে কাজ করে। Am - যার বাংলা অর্থ হল- হই। ইংরেজীতে 'am' এর ব্যবহার Pronoun ' I ' ব্যতিত কোনো Noun বা Pronoun এর পাশে ব্যবহৃত হয় না। যেমন- 'আমি হই' এই বাক্যটির ইংরেজী হবে ' I am ' । এবার আসা যাক ' is ' ভার্বটিকে কোথায় ব্যবহার করব। ' is '  এই শব্দটির বাংলা অর্থ হল - ' হয় ' ।  'is ' সর্বদা 'You' বাদ দিয়ে বাকী সকল Singular Number 'Noun ও Pronoun' এর পরে বসে। যেমন-

এবার আমরা দেখব ' are ' ভার্বটি কখন ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'am ও is ' শব্দ'দুটির বহুবচন রূপ হল 'are' যার বাংলা অর্থ হল- হও। 'are' be verb টি Singular Number 'You' এবং বাকী সকল Noun বা Pronoun এর Plueral Number এর পরে বসে। যেমন-

এখানে তোমাদের মনে রাখতে হবে যে 'and' এবং 'but' word দুটি Conjunction বা সংযোজক অব্যয়। যা কোন দুটি  Words বা Phreese কে যুক্ত করে। মনে রাখতে হবে 'And' Conjunction টি দুটি Semilar Ideas বা একই রকম Word বা Phreese কে যুক্ত করে। আর 'But' Conjunction টি দুটি ভিন্নধর্মী Ideas কে যুক্ত করে।

বিকল্পগুলি থেকে সঠিকটি বেছে নিয়ে শূন্যস্থান পূরণ করঃ
এখানে তোমাদের 'Have Verb' এর ব্যবহার সম্পর্কে বলা হয়েছে। Have Verb গুলি হল "Have, Has & Had" তবে এখানে শুধু Have verb এর Present form দুটির ব্যবহার দেওয়া হয়েছে। এখানে মনে রাখতে হবে 'have' সর্বদা Plural Noun এর আছে অর্থে ব্যবহার করা হয় আর Singular Noun এর আছে অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয় 'has' ।

Fill in the blanks with suitable articles and prepositions:

উপযুক্ত 'article' এবং 'preposition' দিয়ে শূন্যস্থান পুরণ করঃ
এখানে জানার বিষয় হল 'article' এবং 'preposition' কাকে বলে? যদি এই বিষয়ে তোমাদের ধারনা না থাকে তবে তোমরা এটির সমাধান করতে পারবে না। তার জন্য আমি তোমাদের বুঝার সুবিধার্থে নীচে সে সম্পর্কে সংক্ষেপে আলোচনা করলাম, যাতে করে তোমরা বুঝে নিয়ে নিজেরাই সেটির সমাধান করতে পার।

Article: ধর, আমি বললাম একটি বই, একটি আপেল, একজন শিক্ষক, গাড়িটি । এই শব্দগুলির মধ্যে 'একটি, একজন, টি ' বাংলার এই শব্দগুলিকে ইংরেজিতে 'a/an/the' এই তিনটি শব্দ দিয়ে নির্দেশ করা হয়। ইংরেজি গ্রামারের ভাষায় এইগুলি অর্থাৎ 'A/An/The' কে Article বলা হয়।

মনে রাখবে, একটি মাত্র অনির্দিষ্ট বা যে কোনো ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, প্রাণী বোঝাতে Common Noun এর আগে 'A এবং An বসে। কোনও ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা প্রাণিকে নির্দিষ্ট করে বোঝালে Common Noun এর আগে 'The' ব্যবহার করতে হয়। 


Preposition: যে শব্দ কোনো Noun বা Pronoun এর আগে বসে Sentence এর অন্য কোনও শব্দের সঙ্গে সেই Noun বা Pronoun এর সম্পর্ক বোঝায় তাকে Preposition বলে। যেমন- in, on, of, at, to, into, for, with, by etc.

Underline the correct form of the verbs given in brackets:[বন্ধনীর মধ্যে দেওয়া Verb গুলির মধ্যে সঠিক রূপটিতে তলায় দাগ দাও। ]

মনে রাখতে হবে, এই রকম ভাবে Verb নির্বাচন করতে দিলে তোমাকে সবসময় মনে রাখতে হবে Subject এর Person কী রয়েছে এবং Tense বা ক্রিয়ার কাল। তবেই তুমি সঠিক Verb টিকে নির্বাচন করতে পারবে।

The History of Chess

Almost two thousand years ago a board game was played at India. It was called Chaturanga. It was very popular among kings, warriors, and scholars. Chaturanga means four limbs. It represents the four groups of the army: the warriors who fought on elephants, the cavalry, the charioteers, and the infantry. From India, the game went to the Persia where it was called Shatranj. Some of the words we now use in Persia. The term, 'checkmate', was earlier call 'Shah Mat' or 'the king is dead'. From Persia, the game went to  Europe. The game was now been called chess.

Ans: Once upon a time a crow was looking for water. He was very thirsty. He was flying here and there looking for some water. Suddenly he found a pitcher. He flew to the pitcher. He saw there was very little water at the bottom of the pitcher. He couldn't get to it. Then he found some pebbles nearby. The crow picked up the pebbles one by one with his beak. He dropped them into the pitcher. The water level rose. The crow drank water and quenched his thirst.
